Hi. Was doing a service on my 2008 93 TTDI. After removing the really hard to get to filter at the back of the engine, i found a small spring and some broken black plastic in the hole where the oil filter goes. Do i need a whole new oil filter housing or can i get a replacement spring with new plastic cover. After a bit of Internet searching i think it's an oil pressure spring. Help!

That is not separate part.
You need whole oil filter assy (P/N: 55220875).

So the spring has broken from a secure place. It cannot be just pushed back into place? Is it a big job to change or will it,have to go to a garage?

I do not know if spring will hold in place after you push it back.
BTW: That is not oil pressure spring, that is oil filter bypass valve spring.

Thank you for your help. I've just ordered a oil filter housing from a breakers yard. Problem is its going to be a big job to change it i think.
