dose the oil cooler have a t-stat before the lines running to it?? cuase it seems my oil cooler is always cool to the touch even after romping on it....

when i first got it the oil cooler was warm after going 115 on the highway, but i would figure it would also come on when im flooring it up hills too, but it never seems that way?

any help?

Yes, there is a thermoswitch somewhere in the input side. The oil has to get pretty hot before it opens. The oil cooler is usually cold.


If your water pump starts leaking you can smell the oil cooler opening up by the smell of the evaporating coolant dripping onto the in line for the cooler

Mine is prety cold too usually. It only gets hot if it is hot outside amd you push the car...
