I have a 2001 Saab 93 se that i have bought. I am a first time owner of Saab
does any one know does the sid tell you when it is time to do a oil change. If so if you do it before the time how do u rest or how do u rest it when it is time?

Nope, it doesn't (and shouldn't imo). It has a "time for service" message which is usually set to go off every 10k miles. Most, including me, just ignore that and set our own service intervals. I'd change the oil every 3-5 k miles (some do longer, others shorter).
When the "time for service" message comes up hold the clear button till the sid says clear, KEEP HOLDING it until it flashes time for service followed immediatly by clear again. Should be 4 seconds for each message, so 8 total.

Are you going to be changing the oil yourself?
