Well finally for those of us with noisy brakes, please be aware that apparently SAAB has finally produced a new set that will not be noisy . They are in the process of installing them on my 9-3, as soon as I get the car and test them, I will let everyone know if they work and if we are noisy free. Thanks

What are they? Cause my dealership is insisting that they are waiting for "ceramic" brake pads!

Not sure what they are but will find out. According to the service manager, they are new pads SAAB came out with. Will let you know...

My dealership told me they came out last year and that within a year for the 03 model then I could have had them installed but since I hadn't complained until now I am not eligable for the new pads

I bot and 03 9-3 linear last september with 19k on it and I have put 5k on it
I am so sick of the brake dust

I can tell you that the last ones they installed which were a newer part number did make the noise. The ones that were just installed are part number 5171001 or at least that is what it says on my invoice. Also these numbers are present:
