Strange happenings. Driving as normal moderate speed, abs light flashed on then all electrics flickered for a few seconds engine felt as if it would die. After a few seconds normal. Ten minutes later the electrics flicered again and then all power went, engine stopped, blank sid and instruement panel. A few seconds later flickered, instruements came back and was able to start car.

I have noticed that afew bulbs have had to be replaced lately, coincidence?

What is going on the car drove normally all day afterwards.

Have the alternator/charging system professionally checked.

Assure that the diodes are good and that there is no corrosion anywhere..

If a new bulb does not last, there may be an over-voltage problem (very rare, IMO)

I take it you are changing ten year old lamps..

Could be some of the bulbs look old. I only have the car since february and don't have a full history

Check the earth strap that runs from the battery to the bodywork.

This appears to be very high quality, there are two terminals here, but I do not know how they are attached to the body, as this area is well covered by the wheel well plastic panels...
The connection from the battery negative to the power pack is also good, looks to be nigh service free, at least for 10 years, 150K miles..

I suspect the ignition switch, worn and or dirt on the contacts.
