Hello! I'm new to this near site, so apologies in advance if I'm doing this wrong.
I just bought this 1996 900SE from someone who had it sitting for about 9 months, and I'm currently looking for some advice on the worst parts, being the top, and the rear struts.
Roof-
Previous owner noticed roof was leaking, which in that case it should be cleaned and sealed with water sealer. No, this nut bag flex sealed the top of the roof to the windshield frame, drilled bolts into the tonneau cover to keep it from opening as well as drilling the frame of the roof into the tonneau.
I have been able to get the roof un flex sealed and the tonneau has been un bolted and tossed, I have a new one not installed yet. The roof moves up and down by hand currently, but the back of the roof, around where it curves as it meets the tonneau is bowed out a bit, so you can slightly see into the car. On top of that the back end of the top clips the tonneau area as it goes down, which I'm assuming means the frame is pushed back a bit. The roof does seal in to the front windshield perfectly tough, and has not a single tear in it.
Struts-
Clown boy went over train tracks at the speed of sound and forced the rear struts through the trunk, punched metal. The wheel wells and punch spot has zero rust in the areas (car is rust free). I have a welder, but I would like to hear from you what you think about tackling these problems.
This Saab's body is in great shape, engine fires up perfectly, it just needs a ton of care.
