Hi, i am new to SAAB 9000s and SAAB in general though I know Mercedes Diesels and Volvos up to the 940 class pretty well.

I just liberated a SAAB 9000 CSE with 164 K for 2200 from a teenager who got it from its original owner in very good condition and did not appreciate it. It has a new clutch and engine mounts. All i had to do was clean up all the beer cans and condoms from all over the car and get it inspected. I nee to fix the AC system and restore the steroe from its Monster Stereo configuration

Assuming the teenager did not damage it, how long can I expect this vehicle to last? The original owner did SAAB dealer maintenance and took very good care of it. The engine is in very good condition.
I bought my Volvo 940 at 144K and its up to 188K. but i did a lot of overhail repairs to it, like new radiator, new sensors, new brakes and front end. Will I have to do the same again?
My last question is was 2200 a decent price?

$2200 is a great price! I'll give you $2200 for it right now! :cheesy: is it a Turbo?

Welcome to the club.

Plenty of overhaul stuff in the Saab world too. But that's what makes it fun!

How is she running so far? Any problems, noises, leaks or stuff not working?

South Jersey? That puts you in the Philly area? I know a great Saab mechanic in Phoenixville, PA
hi jamal

I do my own work. Yeah it was a CSE 95. I loved the car so much I bought it on the spot w/o an inspection. It smelled right. I got home. I opened the hood. I looked under the hood and saw this thing, they dont advertise it. It was a Turbo. Only nick was on the door.

Welcome to the family!

Not to chase you away from saabcentral, but there's some good reading on the care and feeding of the 9000 at www.quasimotors.com I've owned two 9000s (still loving the '92) and pretty much agree with what he wrote.

Have fun!!!!
Welcome to SC

What color is it?

 You're tempting me......(Capt Kirk voice) ".....Must finish headgasket job on project car....got to....resist....urge....to buy another Saab"
On the subject of how many miles will you get from it. take on look on this site at 'Trivia' - see top of this page, then have a look at high mileages - you better sit down for this part.

Always change the oil using fully synthetic and genuine filter, every 6000 miles and if you take care of the 9K, she will see you to 300k easily.

Enjoy

Owner of a 9k cse Anniversary with 150,000 miles that still has been mistaken (on more than one occassion) for a 50k car.
