Hi, started off changing a few bits here and there but quickly became a full blown Saab Carlsson addict chasing down as many original new parts as possible and swapping them over.

A few photo's of the work completed below. Joined to learn from other members and share my lessons learnt along the way.

Impressive car and nicely detailed. Welcome to SC. Wish there were some of those over here in the US.

Wow. This just makes me want a C900 even more. This is a fantastic job you've been doing.

Just about to start my next restoration project this time a white C900. Not sure if I should stick with original red engine block colour with silver manifold or try the black and chrome finish (see photo's below.)

So grateful for any views on which way I should go as i'm in two minds at the moment.

When the quality of work is at this level, I'm not sure if it makes a whole lot of difference. Seeing what you have already done, either color combination should look equally as impressive with the white backdrop.

However, if I had to make a choice, my vote would be black and chrome.

Tell us a little bit more about your SAAB background and expertise. Your workmanship is meticulous and very tasteful --- a real inspiration!!!

Thanks for your view on the colour combination.

I've had a number Saab's over the years but due to time & work life balance nearly all off the work is now undertaken by specialists in their fields in different countries.

This is really a hobby for me in my spare time. I've got several projects on the go e.g. my 50 year old Porsche and same level of detail goes into each project. But most enjoyable are the Saab's for me.

Great story and kudos to your specialists, they are doing some awesome work!! I wish I could find a specialist, here locally, equally detail oriented. I've been collecting c900's for several years and now I'm trying to shift my focus from buying to resto modding.

I find it interesting that you are also into 911's. I have a cousin that has a passion for 911's. We hangout at the track a lot together and get out for drives. Over the 30 years that he has been enjoying 911's, I too, have grown more and more attached them --- what a different type of driving experience on the track!!

My cousin has me following the work of Rob Dickinson at Singer Vehicle Design and Magnus Walker at Urban Outlaw. Their work and approach is very different, yet I absolutely love what both of them are creating. I actually chatted with Magnus this week. I was reading an interview he did on Petrolicious and I was shocked that he used to drive a SPG. He stated that the SAAB SPG is the only other car, besides a Porsche, that he would want to own and drive --- he is on the hunt for one right now!!!

I am currently looking for a '69 Sonett to drive in vintage racing events, but my cousin is trying to put me in a '69 912 --- gorgeous cars.

Thanks for all of the updates and photos!!! It has been a little quiet on this site lately, so your post have been well received.

If I may suggest, start a build thread in the forum section, under the "c900 Performance, Mods & Tuning" section --- more c900 people would see and enjoy what you are posting.
