Went about installing this H3 HID kit today, and it was going well until I inserted the bulb into the fog light housing. Before inserting the bulb I had everything hooked up and was testing the kit, and it fired right up; turned the fog light switch off, then inserted the bulb in the housing, turned the fog light switch to on and no light. Took the bulb out of the housing and it wouldn't stay lit anymore - the ignitor would fire, but the bulb wouldn't stay lit. It's not a polarity problem as I checked that. Next I switched to the other ballast, and the bulb fired right up. This time - with the bulb lit - I inserted it into the housing. As soon as I got it seated properly, it went out and wouldn't re-light - only the ignitor was firing. I think something with the H3 housing is shorting out the ballast somehow. Luckily the ballasts have warranties so I can send them back if indeed this is problem - but needless to say that stopped the whole installation process.

Anybody here with HID fogs know what's happening?
