I just got my new DI cassette, put it in, reset my codes, but still same problem flashing CEL code says random misfire. I am lost as to what to do, could it be sensors or what? Help me!

Q: Did you hear about the car broken down on the highway?

A: It was a SAAB story.

Did you change the plugs too? If so with what? Do you have the Pxxx code? Also check all the vacum lines. There is a larger one pointed to the RH front door that is common to be cracked.

Check the spark plugs if you did not change them at the same time.

They could be dirty from when the old DIC was not firing correctly. That is why some people recommend to put new ones in along with the DIC. For $8 for a set, and since you have the DIC out already, it can save time and headaches later.

I always cringe when people report how happy they are it only took 10 minutes to replace the DIC on the side of the road, and never have to touch anything else, or even reset the ecu...

What kind of plugs do you have?

You mean the stiff reinforced-type hose to the EVAP canister purge valve? I've been looking at that myself as a possible cause of my crappy idle (not much else left to check).

Only fit NGK BCPR7ES-11 (the -11 is the gap 1.1mm) This should clear it up.

This Hose, found one on the second car in the lot... ;)

Hose number 7539349 (fittings are 8mm - 5/16" and universal hose will work)

Yeah, that's the one... only port that goes directly into the throttle body and not the little chambers underneath... purge valve. Mine seems intact, but it is a bit mauled from an encounter with the belt a few yars ago... I could not find it as a separate part for some reason, and have not taken the time to find a substitute.

I agree to go with the NGK. Considering almost everybody says to use them, why disagree? You'll probably need new plugs now anyways. I check mine about once a week (I know....) and my DI went bad yesterday. When I pulled the plugs they were extrememly black on the end and half way down the threads!!!
