I have an issue with with my water pump pulley grinding into my lower engine mount. I can't determine why this is has happened, all bolts are tight, the engine mount is new, there is no play in the water pump pulley shaft, doesnt' look like anything has shifted out of alignment.

Any possible solutions would be greatly appreciated!

The bearing in the water pump is worn, replace the entire water pump before disaster.

That is what I thought and I puchased a new water pump but once I pulled the old water pump and inspected there is no play whatsovever in the shaft or pulley. I'll install the new water pump and hope for the best. thanks

It may not be enough to be noticeable when you turn it by hand. Check the weep hole and see if there is any signs of coolant, the bearing acts as a seal too and as it wears coolant will weep out.
