Howdee friends...I have a 1987 900Turbo Conv and I was changing out my distributor cap and rotor... and when I removed the connector for the crankshaft position indicator from the distributor it fell apart in my hands (I didn't have to rmove it to change the cap, but I thought it was a good idea...ughh). Half of the plastic connector disintegrated and half is remaining with one of the 3 wires attached. I need help finding another one to splice in. I was told that this connector was only on the 87-89 models?? I called Goldwing, but they don't have one. Any ideas?? I've attached pics.... I've had this car since 1997 and love it, but it's starting to disintegrate! I also bought a '93 900Turbo Conv two years ago.... People ask me why I have 2 Saabs....I always tell them because I can't find a good 3rd one! Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Does anyone know the color coding on the wiring? It has a green, a brown and "maybe" a black?? If I try to put something together, I want to try and hook it up correctly. Which way does the plug go (I can't recall it's orientation before I unplugged it).....Thanks!

Hey,

Just went through the same ordeal.
Look at attached photo for guidance.
This setup appears to work for my Saab 900S/16V 1986 (non turbo).

Thank you so much! The receiver end that is attached to the distributor is still intact, so I just need to verify that the order of the wires lines up with your picture. I really appreciate it!
Best, Tom

Thank you for your reply! I noticed that you connected the green wire from the male end (which is the broken piece on my car) to the red wire coming from the distributor...? And you connected the brown from the broken male plug to the green coming from the distributor..? How did you know to do this??
I can't seem to find a wiring diagram and I have a 50/50 chance of getting it right..Yikes! I'm not sure of the result or damage I could do if I hook it up wrong??

Does anyone have a 1987 -ish distributor that they could take a picture of? This would help me to orientate the broken plug wires in the correct order... I looked online but all the pictures show the connection wrapped in electrical tape where I can't view this info... Thanks everyone!
