Hi guys,

I have a rather annoying and loud creaking coming from the front nearside suspension. On investigation I found a split bush which I think should house some oil. See attached pic. Could this be the source of the problem...? Is it something a layman could replace..?

Many thanks
Christian

That's a balljoint gaiter - could well be the cause of the noise but not necessarily. Either way it needs replacing, and if you're not sure how long it's been gone I'd strongly recommend replacing the whole ball joint.

TRW is the OEM for Saab and you don't want to skimp on these. In theory a fairly simple replacement, but if the bolts don't behave can be a bit of a pig.

......Are the TRW genuine units still available?

Creaking?
I had most issues of creaking with the 'A' arm pivot bushings...........not ball joints.

Here's a riddle: the name has a dangerous animal to drivers in it's name () followed with parts.

Edit. This is getting ridiculous, you can't even type E and L and K together here?
