Good afternoon all;

The two rear-most rubber muffler hangers on my 97 900S convertible are secured onto the hard posts on the body/frame by some sort of clip to keep the hangers from sliding off. What is the secret/process to removing those clips so that I can fit new rubber hangers?

Take a small flat-bladed screwdriver, stick it in between the two halves of the clip, and twist the screwdriver. That will pry the clip apart, and you can slide it off of the post.

Thanks for the advice Jeremy; it worked a treat and I was able to get those clips off.

Pity that even with PB Blaster and heat I could not convince the joint between the muffler and the intermediate pipe to come apart, necessitating that I take the car to a shop anyway...
