I want to try a few different tyre pressures. This is ok and doesn't present me with a problem. However the drive at my house is basically a field entrance and is not level! To measure my current pressures at cold I can put the car on the road (A little dangerous but possible) But to re-set the pressure I have to drive the car to a garage which is over 7 miles away, by which time the tyres are warm and don't then give a true reading. I don't really want to have to buy a tyre pump but is this the only option??

Finn

is this a trick question, Finn? ;)

well at the risk of making an **** of myself ;oops: how about driving to the garage, over-inflating your tyres, driving home, let them cool & then reduce to required pressure.
A pump would be a darned sight cheaper if you're gonna try several different pressures though

Thanks Dean O, Over inflate until cold... lateral thinking was never my strong point ;oops: I'm off to the garage :)
