Hi!

Just got back from Leipzig / Germany from the AMI 2005. Yesterday I have been on the Saab exhibition and had a look at the new 9-3 Sport-Combi, the new facelifted Saab 9-5, the new V6 engine (see engine photos - there is really no space left in the hood!!) and the other 9-3s and Saab merchandising.

I also went a little bit around to other manufactures like Porsche, Yaguar etc. But most of the pictures are from Saab. So...enjoy it...hope you like them.

If someone is interessted in HighRes Versions or a non watermarked version of one or more pictures, please give me an info. I converted them down to 1400er resolution to save a little bit of my webspace. The original resolution is 3008x2000. Pictures where takem with a Nikon D70.

Have fun:

Thanks for the pics. The 9-5 looks just like the 03-05 ones. Are you sure it was the 06 there? I thought they suppose to update the interior as well. The door panels are the same in one of those pics also.

finkeljag: You can see the facelift of the 9-5 on picture "DSC 0883" - compare it to the "old" front to be seen on picture "DSC 0852". New are the front lip and the round fog lights. In the interior was not really something new. So it seems as it's only a exterior facelift. But I can tell you that the new 9-5 front is looking good! A bit more agressive and sporty.

By the way: This round black thing on picture "DSC 0893" is the optional Subwoofer for the entertainment system.

Thanks for the pics......

about the 9-5, this is not the facelift 9-5 version, it is the nowadays version. The only difference is one it is the Aero version with this round fog lights, front spoiler and the other is the vector.

Well...ok edusaab...than it's my fault. ;) Sorry.:cry: But it's a new aero front. the 9-5 Aero from my dad has the old "straight" look like the vector.
Well..as long as it has a griffin. ;) hehehe...

This new front grille was introduced in the 2005 version......My father was in the dealer few days ago and said to me that the dealers, here in Spain cannot make more orders of some versions of the 9-5 and can sell only the stock cars, because in few months it will come the new 9-5 and can accept orders.

I figured that's what it might be. Where exactly is it? They can't put the rear speakers where they are in the SS - and I don't see anyting along the sides in the pictures

I saw a big fault in this SportCombi, you can think it's stupid but i think not ;) .

at this pic.....take a look at the holes in the backdoor, those holes are for help to close the trunk door, but the problem is that the space is oriented if i am not mistaked to put the hand with the fingers aiming to the front, if you close the door then you can be hurted by the door because you close the door and you don't have time and possibility to retire the hand, that happens in many Wagon cars, like some Volvos, that has a handle that you catch as I said, I know some people that broked some fingers closing the trunk door.

If you take a look at the 9-3ss, 9000, 9-5 and so.....you will se that the handle is oriented for putting the hand with the fingers aiming to you and then when you close the door you can leave the trunkdoor quickly.

The subwoofer is under the trunk floor. You can lift the trunk floor with the "airplane" styled handle (see http://bilder.do9egl.de/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=ami2005&id=DSC_0890 ). If you lift the floor with this one you get the "underground" that can be seen here: http://bilder.do9egl.de/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=ami2005&id=DSC_0891

As you can notice on the lower leftr and right part of the trunk there are star like screws that can be turned to unlock the "underground" and then you can use the handle in the middle of the black plastic to lift the whole thing up. Underneath this is
a) the spare tire (if ordered)
b) the subwoofer that fits into the space of the spare tire (even if one is installed)

so a very clean install.

I lifted the plastic cover in order to get a picture of the subwoofer (http://bilder.do9egl.de/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=ami2005&id=DSC_0893) there you can see the spare tire aswell, on the bottom of the picture.

After lifting the trunk floor you can set the trunk floor into two positions one like the picture above (http://bilder.do9egl.de/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=ami2005&id=DSC_0891), so you have two seperated spaces (one between the rear seats and the folded floor and the space to be seen from the folded floor to the trunk lid. So you can put small things in the space between floor and rear seats without them moving around and bigger things in the pace at the beginning. The floor is "hooked" into the plastic floor so that it stays that way.

If you move the trunk floor further to the back seats you have access to the emergency tool kit (in the middle of the picture), the integrated telephone (on the left side of the picture where the slot is and the white spot of the chassi) and the Navigation DVD reader on the left side (the black box with the cable in front of it). Here is the mentioned picture: http://bilder.do9egl.de/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=ami2005&id=DSC_0892

On this picture you can even see the "vault" where the trunk floor is "locked" when in the above mentioned position to seperate the trunk into two zones.

Hope I could describe it so that it's understandable. ;)
