boingy boingy boingy badoinggg cha-ching !i made that mistake on my first new style 900 , i broke the bushes and the bits on the tops of the front mounts .
its also the only time ive ever felt travel sick when actually being in charge of a vehicle .
I would say that you really should wait until you can offord shocks and springs at the same time. Otherwise you will have a bouncy ride and if you decide to do shocks later you will have to do basically the same install twice. Its not worth it. I have Eibach's and Bilstein's and they were very reasonably priced and are excellent.
