I keep reading about my car (1999 9-5, 2.3lt auto) that it has a low pressure turbo.

I am wondering, since low pressure turbo exists, there must be a high pressure turbo too, right?

If there is a high pressure turbo, can we install it? Or buy it? Or does it even exist? Can we just upgrade the turbo at all with a better or powerful one?

The turbo off the Aero is the high output turbo, some of the guys here have swapped the smaller Garett turbo for this Mitsubishi unit and beyond. I'm sure one of them will be along shortly........

To change your GT17 low pressure turbo into a high pressure turbo you need to remap the ECU, or use the BSR PPC to upgrade. If at a later date you want to go nuts then put on the TDo4 or a hybrid unit, these will give you much more power. You cant just stick the bigger turbo on though without mapping and other hardware changes..

To use the Aero TD-04 you will need to add 2 extra cooling pipes as well.
