Hello Guys,

I have a saab 9-5 sports combi linear 2004 automatic, acquired few months back. The car drives pretty much ok but overall I feel it's making more than usual engine noise and smoke smells of gasoline too. There are no error codes or warnings. Can you suggest what do I start checking? I don't want this problem to escalate and my fun car to die with some horrible problem.

How old is your DIC?

How old are your spark plugs?

Do you have another DIC to use as a test to see if it might be the problem?

The DIC and spark plugs are the easiest things to start with.

I have no idea about the DIC, it hasn't been changed since I have had it, I'll try to find that out. I dont't have another DIC to try with.
Spark plugs are on my list to change so I'll change them this week for sure.
