Hello all, well as the title states I've lost my last key to my 9-5. I've read and read posts about what to do in this situation and it seems like pulling a twice module is my option. Now my question is what else is needed besides the module, the keys, and the ignition switch? Do I need the key antenna? Also are any of you parting out a 9-5 and would kindly sell me the stuff I need? Thanks

there's a service on line that will fix this for you
you pull your TWICE, send it to them with your VIN. They get a new key cut based on the VIN and program up the TWICE to accept it.
something like lostsaabkeys.com
Saves you from having to replace the cylinders in the door, ignition and trunk (if you have one there) and the trip to the Tech II to get a new.used TWICE married.
But this isn't cheap.
If you have access to a Tech II you can often find a bundle on ebay with a TWICE, ignition module and at least one key. A cheaper option by far but more work. What I'd consider doing there is to get the TWICE with key and then order two keys for your VIN from thesaabsite.com and two remote guts from ebay. Take the lock cylinder out, use a screwdriver to turn the ignition to on, marry the twice, use the key you bought with the twice to get into the system and then program the two new keys back into the system then put the original lock cylinder back in. That way it matches the VIN if you ever have to order another key and you don't have to change the door/trunk locks.

yeah the car is locked, I have just read something interesting tho. I can buy a blank key and have it cut using the key code and the vin and then take the key and the car to my local Indy and they can re program the twice to accept the new key. Does this sound right or am I getting my hopes up for nothing.

No: You must have a working key to get a new cut key to marry, A new cut key will unlock the door however. You can buy a new cut key pretty cheap and just use that for the door lock and then buy a used tumbler and twice unit with keys. Your cut key will go into the tumbler so you can remove it.

Get a key cut from your VIN to match door locks and ignition. Get a used TWICE with an already programmed key/chip. Replace your TWICE, then add the programmed chip to your new key. Program immobilizer with TECH 2. No need to change any cylinders

You definitely need a new, or used TWICE married to a remote/key, then you need to order a blade to match your VIN. Ask me how I know. Wife lost the last key to ours and we were stuck for over a month.
If its the same as a 2001, we found our old key, so I have a key/remote and TWICE unit I will sell you. I know it works because it was the original from our car. All you would need then is the blade and someone to program it to your car.

Just spotted a TWICE and key in the classifieds for $125, good price IMO. You can add I believe up to four keys, not sure the number of fobs. But ALL must be present at time of programming to work. I believe any fob will work as well.
That is mine in the classifieds.
If you have the original banana, I think once you get the blade, you might be ok. Eeuroparts had the blades for like $35, but it took them a month to get them here. I found a local guy that got one for me for $45 in 2 days. Of course this is for my 2001. Not sure yours is the same.

Get the key code from the dealer and take it to a locksmith; they can cut a basic transponder key from the code; at least you can get the door open and turn the ignition; if you had a banana fob you could start car without programming. If you got a remote key cut, with remote you can also start the car without programming until you change the TWICE and have it programmed. To get the code for FREE from the dealer go to the service desk; tell them you want a Warranty Inquiry Printout; the code will be included in the printout.. This is a copy of mine (doesn't matter if all see's my code it's useless to anyone else ) I changed my locks and keys; so the Vin changed for my keys/locks. I just wanted you to see what the printout looks like with the Key Code.

Got a few in my area; some can make a copy without the code (providing you have one key); some dealers/parts dist can sell you a cut key for about $80 or less shipped without the remote; then get a remote/fob from ebay; if you only get the transponder key, you'll need a fob; with either you can start the car with the current TWICE (without programming) until you find a replacement TWICE; then have all programmed when you do.

Thesaabsite.com will sell you a cut key using your VIN for $38. Get two! That will get you in and will tuen the ignition
You can buy the remote parts for your keys on eBay, generally for $50 each.
You can get a twice with a key for $200 on eBay, or other places. Then install it, get it to someone with a tech II and get that married to the car. And then get the two new keys and remotes programmed.
Or you can do the lostsaabkeys thing for $700 without having to program anything

If you still have the original part mated to your twice, you may not need all that. Can you post a picture of what you have? If it is what I think it is, you just need a new key and you can have everything programmed to your existing TWICE. Otherwise, I have mine listed in the classifieds on here. No matter how you look at it, you will likely need a blade cut.
