I need to remove my drivers (right) leccy window, as it has stopped working (up fortunately), but am having a bit of bother trying to get it out....

All the information I can find on the Tech Help section here, seems to imply that in order to remove the window from the regulator mechanism (2 screws) the glass should be down. But there lies the problem, mine is up!!!

I got as far as supporting the glass and removing the screws, but the regulator and glass would not seperate

I dont know whether its the regulator or motor that is knackered, and as ive never had to do this before, i'm kinda starting from scratch

Info/guidance would be great

Undo the five bolts holding the regulator to the door (one is tucked away in a hole near the door latch) and you should be able to move it enough to get access to the three bolts holding the motor to the reg. Undo them and watch out for the falling window!
If the motor is jammed, it may be recoverable by drilling out the rivets on the gearcase, removing the plate and cleaning out the old grease/gunk. Refill with fresh grease, replace the cover plate and secure with small bolts or self tapper screws.

Edit: You did check the switch didn't you? Try swapping it with the LH switch and see does the problem move.

removing window

For some reason it's real easy to get the pre 87 windows out, when i tried on a post 87 i was struggling so gave up it the end (was only parts car). The window seemed to get stuck whilst drawing it out, where as the older version popped out no problem, it's easy to get to the point where the windows ready to come out, as Cdaly said just remove the nuts from the regulator so you can push it back a bit, that gives you enough room to get your hand it and unbolt the motor from the regulator.

Us commoners just tend to use a bit of duct tape. Just stick it on the inside of the window, over the top of the door and down the outside
