Saab 9-5, year 2000, 2.3T. Got a knock sensor error code P0327. Lost power and CEL came on. Several weeks later got P0336 and car would not start.

After talking to Boyd's Saab in Sandy, UT decided to replace the DIC. This would be third for this car, that I know about, currently 178,000 mi.

Bought a used DICK for $150 and car runs great.:p:p:p

I know that the car won't start with a P0336, as stated in the thread.

I am posting this information so others who get a knock sensor and crankshaft position error know that it may be neither, but instead a bad DICK!!!!!:p:p:p

a bad DIC wont cause a crank sensor code..just so you know

so im just letting you know that you might have an intermittent failing crank sensor and your car may not start again even with the different DIC

You were right, car wouldn't start again, so I replaced the CPS and everything is working fine. No start symptom only seemed to occur when engine was hot, would always start when cold.

Thanks for the heads up.
