I have a 99' 9-5SE and have one of those bulky keyless entry remotes. I came across some of the Saab keys that have the remote build in, but it doesn't seem like they are applicable for any models below 2000.

I'd love to get ride of that monster of a remote and something more compact. Is there any possibility that a dealer would still be able to match and program the newer remote?

Also, I'm assuming that cut keys are useless, or is there something that can be done to open the remote/key and transfer my cut key to the new remote, again assuming that the newer remote would be applicable in my case?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I had one 'banana' fob remote and key set for my car and needed a secondary key and remote for my 2000 9-5.

I bought an all-in-one unit (three buttons and key together) from Simply Saab, Bristol, UK, which was cut and programmed by them and worked just fine.
