I have the keyfob for my 900 but when the battery died, it stopped workin with the car. im guessing it needs to be reprogrammed. (i put a new battery in it obviously) does this have to be done at a dealership? if so is it free to have it done? i dont know if this has anything to do with anything, but when i press the button by the glass breakage sensor (by the sunroof) the red security light on the dash flashes. thanks in advance.

Keep pressing the battery. The remote needs to resynchronize with the car's system. It needs about 10 seconds to do so. Keep pressing the button for about 10 seconds, you should hear the car beep.

That button disables the glass breakage sensor temporarily (so, for example, you can leave the windows or sunroof open and alarm the car still).
