I'm finally going to buy a kayak after yaers of renting, but have not carried one on my 9.3. On the C900 tying off the front and rear was not an issue with the big bumpers ('86 SPG).

Questions are:
1. I have a Thule rack, and I'm considering the 'J' type mounts...are they any good and can I squeeze two boats on the roof?

2. Anyone have experience tying off the bow and stern without damaging the bumpers/paint? I'm thinking of using the tow hook in the front, but not sure that will work.

Any thoughts or ideas would be most appreciated,
Robert

Using the tow eye in the nose will be fine; I'm not sure where the optium tie off point for the rear is though

Thanks hkayssi but that would only allow me to carry one boat. The racks on the 9.3 aren't wide enough for 2.

I doubt you can fit 2 on your Viggen, though with SAABs you never know

Maby fit the second kayak like this?

Robert, Can the Kayaks be fitted on the side using that contraption????? I doubt it but if you can, that may solve the problem as they'd take less place that way.
