My friend recently got a 2002 9-5 and just bought a K&N intake of genuine and asked me to put it in..i own a 1999 9-3 is this simillar at all? any pictures or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Remove the panel under the front bumper. Remove the grille (two plastic screws) and the passenger side turn signal (8mm screw). Undo the hose clamps at the top and bottom of the airbox, pull out the snorkel via the bottom and disconnect the hose up top.

Undo the two screws holding on the airbox to the car, pull back against the bumper and feed it down and out. Attach your open airfilter to the supplied adaptor tube with a hose clamp, place a hose clamp over the hose up top... insert the adaptor tube into the intake hose, but leave it loose.

Now position the intake and screw it down to the obvious airbox hole. You will probably need to remove the rubber grommet from it if it hasn't fallen out yet. Once this is attached, tighten down the top hose clamp and put your car back together. Voila.
