Jump start - radio dead

 Hi-

Last week my car got towed and when I picked it up at the impound lot- the battery was dead and it needed a jump. Before this- my alarm lights would randomly come on and off during the day draining my battery- so i think this is why my battery was dead. Anyway, It was jumped fine, but now the radio doesnt work. Its not prompting me for a code either. Any suggestions? Before this happened I thought maybe I had a short, but now the alarm doesnt even work and neither does the radio. I checked the fuses and they are fine, but isnt there a fuse behind the radio? How do I get back there?

Also, my dad thinks that all my problems have to do with a *** battery-- could this be true?

Please help me.

Thanks.:(

Probably the battery is shot - these are good for 3 to 5 years, usually..Does your family possess a multimeter ??

If you have not written down the radio code in your manual, you will have to go to the dealer with the serial number and hope that he is a good one..

Read the sticky Faqs.
I hope your vehicle was not damaged by the impound people...
Thanks Earthworm...The only thing is that the previous owner said he replaced the battery last summer.... Is there a way to test the battery?

Also does anyone know if there is a way to check the fuse behind the radio?
