Interesting, thanks. I like the part where msmith says, "That doesn't look right!" Well, it doesn't sound right either, but it's what we are stuck with:confused:

Saab does use MOSTNET. That much is a fact, and is probably unknown to the JLAudio rep. It's a new "feature."

Incidentally, the chart prepared by davepa was pretty much confirmed as accurate by Entertainment, a previous member of Saabcentral. Entertainment (Jari) worked on the Saab infotainment team which developed the 9-3SS stereo. I take him at his word. Unfortunately, he hasn't posted here in about a year.

JL Audio Clean Sweep Questions in Saab 05' Arc 9-3 Convertible

Hello everyone, I just got my new 2005 Saab Arc 9-3 Convertible 3 weeks ago. I am very serious about sound quality and performance in all my vehicles. This Saab is a Lease so I can't really do all that much to alter it or pay the consequences in 3 years when the car goes back. I just heard about the JL Audio product "Clean sweep" What will this device do for me with the 13 speakers that the Saab Arc Convertible has in it now, they really sound horrible and that stock head unit does not have many controls on it to make them sound much better it is the standard Infotainment system that comes with the drivers package I believe it is the 300 model it does not have the NAV system. I am currently building a new slot ported Subwoofer enclosure for the very tight trunk space I have with the convertibles top down. :cheesy: I only have 10 inches in depth due to the convertible top. I was just able to make a box to fit in that space that meets the volume requirements for two JL Audio 10W6v2s in a ported enclosure box. I am half way finished with building the box, probably be done tomorrow. I have a JL Audio 500/1 amp to power the subs and of course a line converter and a bass knob to control output levels from the sub box. I just happened to visit the JL Audio site and noticed the Clean Sweep on the site last night. I found out that it is not yet available at any of the retailers in my area (northern NJ) but it should be in soon and will cost around $300. I would love to install this in my new Saab because I was not very happy with that poor quality from the standard $40 line out converter I used in my last leased vehicle with this JL Audio equip. Also I am very unpleased with the sound quality of those 13 stock Saab speakers and the poor control I have of them through the Stock Saab 300 head unit. I only have 1 bass control knob, one treble control knob and a poor knob fader and balance.

Does anyone have this Saab audio system I believe it is the Infotainment 300 with 13 speakers and a total of 300 watts output? I was wondering if you could give me any advice on what I can do to get better control of these speakers or which ones would be the easiest and most effective to change out with after market high quality speakers that would give me the best sound quality improvement. Can I EQ or better control the 13 stock speakers with this JL Audio Clean Sweep? I've read a lot of posts about it and I'm still not sure how I can use it with my Saab stock audio system and the JL 500/1 pushing my sub box. Anyone that has some official legitimate advice or ideas I might be able to try or use before I make any mistakes that cost me extra money please e-mail me directly at [email protected] or you may post here or e-mail me from here.

Anyone know where I can order this JL Audio Clean Sweep device right now either through the internet or mail order or phone order? I would like to get it ASAP and please if you have any advice on how I should use it to greatly improve the audio system in my Saab please e-mail me or post. I would like to get this system together and installed within the next week or so while I still have a good portion of the summer to enjoy it with the top down =).:p

I have the Saab 2005 Arc 9-3 Convertible. Anyone know what brand the stock speakers are in it and what sizes they are exactly? I could only find minimal information about them in all the Saab owners' manuals. I was able to find a speaker lay-out map in the owners' manual but that doesn't tell me much. anyone have a better layout or know where I can find one? I don't even know what sizes these speakers are behind the grills in the car. Please e-mail me or send me any info you can about what I can do with this Saab Audio system. Thank you for taking the time to read my lengthy post =) Chris

Chris,

I may be old, but I don't think I'm quite in need of a FONT THAT LARGE, yet!

Seriously, check the FAQ first for lots of info. This topic has a rich and colored history in this forum.

I will read your post in more detail later. Right now, I gotta go chase the kids in the pool and pretend I'm a shark:D

I searched in the FAQS but found nothing

I wasn't sure if 4 was too over the top but I guess it was. =) Sorry about that one. Anyway try to get back to me after you read over my post more carefully, I searched the FAQs but couldn't come up with any results for Clean sweep or JL Audio. Actually I'm about to go take a dip in my pool after I finish up this box, I'm donwn to the final stage now which is dropping in the 2 connection clippers and then putting the top on and screwing in the subs, that will be fun since each sub takes 10 2" screws to hold them in =) !!!. OK try to get back to me later today and enjoy the swim.

Chris
