Since I agreed to order a radiator from mikaroo. I sent funds via MoneyGram two weeks ago, and it says he picked it up. Now I know people are not always able to ship right away, so I give a little time, but two weeks and we're only a state away, is pushing it. I kinda need it as soon as possible as mine has a leak in it. I tried contacting him but to no avail. Has any one done any business with him? And if you read this mikaroo, please refund my purchase if you do not intend on shipping it or at least even contacting me about it within the next week. Thanks.

Professional "victim" perhaps?

Is this the same "mickaroo" who had a crying post up there a few weeks ago (check his stats and track his posts), where he was saying that he got ripped off by putting down a "sizable" deposit on a yellow Monte Carlo vert?

I think the car was in Rhode Island and he was from Mass. How'd the Grapefull Dead song go .. "set up like a bowling pin, knocked down it get to wearin' thin"

So "mickaroo" can't drive from RI to MA before he puts a "sizeable" deposit in the mail to buy a car he has never seen? I got a feeling he runs Nigerian Mail Order Brides and "good faith money" scams on the side.

No offense, but it's stuff like this that keeps me from ordering on the net unless the person has been on a site for years.

I would never send money for any item "sight unseen" and now I wonder if the whole thing about the yeller' vert was just a distractor? He posts up like a woe-begotten victim and member of the community to establish a "bond" as an honest bloke and then wham ...

Heck, after that little rant of mine, it will be on your front porch in the morning?

Now that I think of it, he wouldn't produce any pictures of any of the parts as they "are still on the car" and would take them off once he gets a deposit. Well, he got it, so where is it...?

And I am also hesitant with buying items from individuals because there is no way you will know if they will follow through or not. I assumed he was legitimate and I could trust him as he has over a hundred posts. But we will see.

Will wait one more week, then he's no good in my book...

I'll add my opinion to this problem....yes, I know its in the wrong place.
A shame that things have to be this way..
Man brings these problems upon himself...then he cries out "small government", liberty, freedom, and that crap...
Fortunately, most, even 95% of business is honest, and they too have to pay for criminal activities.
We need something in place to prevent this crime, but what ???
And, IMO, his "crime" may be nothing more than poor communications....

Maybe have Premium accounts where you have to pay a small fee to be able to buy/sell?
How about have a certain amount of posts before you can sell/buy?
Or even have either party sign a contract holding them accountable before a sale? Not sure. Only things I can think of.

If anything, bring them to small claims court and set an example.

There are things that can be done. What address did you forward the money to?

After that it will take more energy than whining but I love to see an a-hole sweat.

Communication? You advertise or offer and then cash a check? Sounds pretty simple when it comes down to what you need to do next. I don't buy that in most cases. If circumstances changed he could have sent the money back.

I sent it to a MoneyGam location near him where he picked it up. Here is his info:
Mik Nowak - 69 Hazardville Rd - Longmeadow, Ma - 01106

Sent multiple pm's, which also sends him an email. Thought this thread would get some sort of response from him, but still waiting. Will also try to contact him through mail..

Still nothing. I will send him a letter today but doubt it will lead to anything.

I am getting really mad now, my radiator finally went, luckily down the street from my house.

Will anybody be kind enough to sell me a radiator at reduced price, knowing my situation?

;oops:

They may even be acquainted with him and will welcome the opportunity for a sit down visit. Putting it in writing and indicate that you are willing to press charges is a plus.

A-wipes take bank on the fact that people are lazy and will not that the time to put pen to paper and show up to back it up.

Turn the burners up and make him squirm, you may get a shock where he sends back your entire deposit.

For future reference, Paypal or a USPS Money Order delivered via USPS so you can press mail fraud charges should the seller not follow through.

That stinks man, sorry to hear about your troubles. I just wanted to add that maybe SC could do some sort of rating (a la ebay) for those interested in buying/selling items that would appear each time they post. Registering users who post in the classifieds section (real name, address, etc.) would also cut down on scammers. There is no way to completely eliminate the possibility of fraud, but paypal is about the closest you can get right now.

A bunch of guys over on the Rally forum are posting the same things.

Sounds like a "local" should at least drop by to check it out?

He may be busy or it may be a total scam.
