On the interstate yesterday I had apparently blown the intercooler hose clamp screw.

I originally feared the worst as the car instantly lost power and went into limp mode....and would die completely if the rpm's fell under 1000 (slow or stopped traffic)

I had the car towed to the dealer as limp mode wasnt really 'limping' very well at all. They found and fixed the problem within 20 minutes. The service manager said he never seen intercooler hose clamp lose a screw before.

But I could have sworn I saw an old thread on this site about that very same issue. Search did me no good...any of you long time posters remember anything like it?

Yes, it was on my buddy's car. His IC hose also popped out. No problems after he fitted the thing back. Everything returned to normal.
