I've been looking at my inlet manilfold, as I intend to eventually convert my 'vert to LPG. This involves drilling and tapping holes to attach the LPG injectors to and ideally I would like to do this with the manifold removed, even better is I can aquire a spare from my local scrap yard and modify that of course. But I am having difficuly seeing the fastnings, is there a way to undo them with the engine in situ?

I'd think so...Have the WIS at hand displaying manifold and use mirrors and strong LED lights.. You may have to attack from both the top and bottom sides.

You can get the manifold off with the engine in place fairly easily. You'll have to use a creative combination of ratchets, sockets, extensions, and possibly wrenches, but all of the bolts are accessible. It has to be done to replace the head gasket, so a fair number of us have done it.
