Here's my story: battery was dead yesterday afternoon, so I jumped it but wouldn't hold a charge. I noticed the radio will turn off when I pull the key, but if after a few minutes I hit the On bottom for the radio it turns on. No key inserted. I hear the steering lock click when I remove the key but the key is tough to pull out. When the key is out it appears the spring has popped up. Key is hard to pull out. Ignition switch replacement? Does the new ignition switch need any programming to my key? Is this a DIY job or just leave it to the shop?

Thanks, do the issue i described sound like the ignition switch being the problem?

Key being hard to dislodge would lead me to believe it thinks the lock pin is not disengaging as it should so seems like a good start.

being able to turn radio on without fob in ism is normal,just like when you shut the door leaving the radio on locking with the fob,radio turns off..
