I took this picture in an effort to replace all the rusted parts. Can anyone tell me what this one is?
The rust presents a problem on your waste gate actuator housing because it is a vacuum-based diaphragm that relies on the housing being air tight and the rust could've, potentially, created a leak which would impede the actuator's ability to perform/perform correctly. Is that rust a problem in its function? Or can it wait until there are signs of a problem?
In the meantime, pick up a can of PB Blaster (it's like $5 a can) and give it a good spraying down, followed by a light scrubbing with a wire bristle brush, to clean up/knock off all of the excess rust buildup:Okay, Thanks. I'll add that to my replacement list.
