I was about to buy the SPG APC box, but then remembered you can mod the original Turbo box for 1$, lol. I was also trying to pick up the 3.0 bar feul regulator but just missed it.
Isn't that "SPG APC" just a regular apc unit? The 185 hp version is red, so it isn't that one. Maybe I should write "SPG AERO" on all my spare parts an sell them on ebay...

Remember that the Saab fpr can be replaced not just with a Saab part, but with possibly cheaper part from another manufacturer. That fpr is most likely of a -90-93 900T16, maybe even an SPG, with Lucas incejction.

In his add he said it was the SPG APC box which was good for 175hp.
So is the fpr he is selling now a genuine Saab item? You're saying there are cheaper alternatives?

That's not false advertising at all, the SPG APC was different from the regular 900t apc. As Pap mentioned, good for up to another 15hp depending on year, etc.

And Pap, the 3.0 FPR has always been a genuine saab item, found on naturally aspirated 900s.

Well only the later (91-93?) spg's had the extra kick, which was 185 bhp - the older ones were the same as the regular 900t's afaik. Which would mean that an APC from 1986 could be called an spg apc because it has the same hp rating. I think his says 175 instead of 165-160 because it was the one designed to be fit to non-catalyst cars, which had 10 more hp as a result of slightly more boost. no joke.

your info is waste of time, prankster:

there were no 92 or 93 SPGs. '91 was the last year. And it didn't have 185bhp, it had 175bhp. You're thinking of cars equipped with the Red Box, which had 185bhp (like the 900 comm edition hatch & vert, for example). These also had a 2.8 bar FPR and a modified dist vac capsule, also sold in a kit from saab.

HP for SPGs:

85-86: 160
87-89: 165
90-91: 175

Who got those 90-93 boxes with 175 hp from the factory and a cat? Is that the Lucas cars? Also, your information conflicts, box 7524127 could not be on SPG models, other chart says 86-89 did not have 175 hp. Get it straight, ser, baron is no joke, provides solid info unlike internet pranksters.

Yes, but you can modify any of the boxes a la www.900aero.com to get whatever level of boost you want - I'm not sure which is more readily available in singapore, if either is at all, but yeah - either one is good if you don't mind cracking open the unit to tinker a little.

I believe it means 7524127 was fitted to T16S cars which were 175hp without cat, 86-93. It was also fitted to 87-89 SPGs in the US with cat for a total of 165hp.

Which matches my original statement that 87-89 SPGs had 165hp.

Yes it can.

The 90-93 box 7583172 with 175 & a cat is what mine came with Red. And it is a box of redness.

unfortunately APCs are tricky to guarantee as far as what came stock, as they are easily removed and installed into different cars.

A car could come with a redbox when you bought it, but someone may have added it before your ownership. Tricky indeed.

EDIT:
The part numbers I listed were from SAAB manual no joke

lol, I know, I'm just looking for an excuse to be "serious" even though I know I was wrong.

Does that mean that they adjusted the same box to different settings for different markets? I was under the impression that the reason all the cat cars had 10 extra hp was the increased boost (which they did have, I've seen the stats somewhere, can't seem to find it now, maybe in a manual?) - I don't think I've heard that when people de-cat they automatically see that extra hp back, so it seems weird that the same box would produce exactly a 10hp difference by de-catting alone, unless they changed the resistance at p/f as well.

I think I have a link that might have some of that info, but it's on my home computer :( It's a decently thorough site from I believe sweden that lists something like the history of APC modifying theory, and I think it at least has the factory redbox specs, might have some others too.
