I have been working on my new SAAB ('05 9-3) and last night I was removing the MCC swapping bulbs and trying to figure out why they dont light up. Anyway in the course of removing and installing a time or 2, I heard a snap when pushing the red clip in while simultaneously pushing the connector onto the back of the MCC, something went flying into the back seat area. The connector still locks but when it isnt installed it moves very freely as opposed before whatever tab snapped. I checked and it locks in place and holds the connector fine. Overall not a big deal, but i have had this happen on every SAAB i have owned, no matter how carefully i push or pull those tabs.

If I want to replace it, Can I pull one off a donor wiring harness (ie cut one off at a junk yard and just replace the red tab??

has anyone done this? I wonder if I cut a harness and then try to remove the red tab if I will basically end up doing the very same thing?

This always happens, heat/cold makes it brittle. Just use a zip tie to secure.
