Hi, I know I can replace the blend lever, but it is the part circled in red, the insert part that I am not sure about. If I get a new blend lever, does it have that insert part in it? From all the parts available online that I see they don't come with the insert. I am not sure how to proceed. Anyone know?

You can get a solid aluminum repair kit from GENUINESAAB.COM. Works pretty good. I just had to do this repair finally after 23 years it let go.

Yes, but even that aluminum one still needs to have the little plastic clip transferred over, which is the OP's issue. It's a great upgrade, otherwise, and I have one on one of my cars.
