I'm trying to remove the hood/bonnet switch (by the brake booster). I have a replacement NG9-3 of a different design that has its rubber boot intact. It's obvious how to unclip the newer design, but I don't see how to get the original switch that's in the car loose! ;oops: I've tried blind prying with a screwdriver, no luck. WIS does not explain either.

It's a royal PITA to get that switch off. I replaced mine when the boot fell apart. I think I ended up breaking off part of the original's clip to get it to release. The bracket it attaches to is metal, so if you go at the old switch with some clippers, you should be able to break up the plastic while leaving the bracket on the car intact.

WIS does not show a chain saw being used to remove the switch....just a magical unclipping.

The later switch (which is listed in EPC as a substitute part for 9-5s) has an obvious tab to unclip.
