Does anyone know how to reset after getting a new battery? I have a 1997 Saab 9000 cse. I can't seem to locate the alarm module, either. Does anyone know where that is located? Thank you!

you mean the vss module?
I'm not quite sure actually, but if that's what it's called, then yes. My alarm kept on going off when I tried to start my car, and I tried looking up information about it online, and it said to reset it. We finally got the car started, but now it won't shift into gear. I'm not quite sure what the problem is, but I figured I'd try resetting whatever needed to be reset.

I realize that the following sounds like voo-doo engineering, but it just worked for me last week!

Alarm Reset After Replacing Battery

To reset the alarm remove the alarm fuse and put it back in. Make sure the interior light switch is in position # 1 and the open the drivers door and then close it. Then turn the drivers door lock to the left 3 consecutive times quickly and then to the right one time to lock the doors. Then watch the interior light under the rear view mirror and 10 seconds after the interior light goes out the alarm light in the speaker grille will begin to blink.

At that point you are armed.

armed and completely bonkers?

The procedure described elsewhere is for changing the battery in the remote, aim the remote more or less at the car and hold the lock/unlock button down for about 5 seconds until the car locks or unlocks.

Changing the battery in the car may be different as the object is to prevent theft of the car by removing the main battery.
