I am replacing my rear brakes, i figured i may as well have the rotors turned while i am working on them, how do i get the rotors off? I took off the lil gold torx head screw and released the emergency brake. Just wondered how they came off. Thanks in advance.

Did the same thing today.

Before you do any of this make sure the emergency brake is off. The emergency brake is actually a drum brake inside the rotor.

I had to use a hammer to get them off.

First give the rotor a few good whacks on the front around the center point.

If they still will not come off, turn the rotor and whack them from behind.

Before you take the hammer out, release the emergency brake shoes through the small hole in the drum, a lip builds up over time and you will most likely break a spring if you just smash the disc off! :nono;
