if its a manual then the chassis number should have B234R (225bhp) at the end and not B234L (200bhp)
Give us the full vin number....

I dont think that the 9000 turbo hatchback 5 speed (aka. aero) had 225 hp in 1991. I know they did form 1994 on but back then it wasn't called an aero specifically. I was looking at a 1991 that was a 5 speed hatchback with the 3 spoke aeros and it was bright red with painted bumpers. It had 200 bhp. I dont really know. Give us the full vin number so we can run it in the www.saab9000.com vin decoder.

Thanks a lot!

I think like saabeh , that i in 1991 wasn't aero it was only fabrican tuning and later they called it aero , and people now called models before 1993 or 1992 called aero :)

So I know the AERO was called in 1993 CS, but 1991 9000 CC i can call T16 "AERO". It's fabrican tuning?

"
Model Year 1991

A turbo was strapped to the 2.3 litre engine to provide a potential 200 horses. This new engine propelled the new 9000 T16S Aero, the replacement for the 9000 Talladega.

Externally, all 1991 models acquired the new inclined front of the 9000 CD. For safety and comfort all 9000s got reinforced side-impact protection and an electrostatic pollen filter to exclude unwanted airborne particles from entering the cabin.

Saab TCS (Traction Control System) and a drivers airbag were available on certain models.

"

Thanks

ONLY SAAB :)

Sorry - misread the question. There is no Aero in 1991 and unless it has the wingback seats it is defintiely not an aero. (there are odd exceptions to this)

High end model in 1991 is the Carlsson and is quite heavily badged that way. The 2.3 Litre B234L and B234R came out that year also.
The Carlsson was UK only.

The Carlsson spec in certain markets outside the UK was called an Aero;) , but, yes I would have thought that these Aero models would have had the B234R as per the UK 2.3 Carlssons...?

The "Aero" from 1991 was not labeled as this way in US. They had the B234L motors with 5 speed manuals. No aero seats either. It just looked good with the Aero wheels and bright red color.

The winged Aero seats didn't appear until the 'all-market' 'Trionic' Aero was introduced mid-MY93.
