I have a 2005 9-5 with four things that went out at the same time. The horn, the key alarm, the turn signal sound and the time /temperature display. The horn fuse #17 under the hood checked OK. Does anyone know what component would tie all of these together?

Checked fuses 5 , 16 and 17 and all are fine. Also noticed that the intermittent wiper function is gone and when you turn on ignition there's a faint squeaking noise out of the SID

I think but I'm not positive the clock spring in the steering wheel column is a common component.

The squeak could be your beaver.

There is a little speaker built into the display (the SID) which makes the turn signal sound. Sounds like the SID is gone bad

Do your heated seats and windows also work when this is going on? Could also be your ignition switch.

Check fuses 8 and 27 in dash fuse box.

Sounds like the SID is toast, or possibly just disconnected. Was there anything done to the car just before this happened?

I would pop the SID out and see if the connector on the back is firmly attached.
