I used to have my iPod connected to the stereo through the audio in described in the forum. The sound was just perfect, but it was not that good to have control over it, as well as charging, turning on and off with the car, etc.

So I installed a Drive + Play from Harman Kardon. It works wonderfully, but know I get this hissing sound related to the engine speed. I've tried a ground loop isolator (from PAC), but the sound quality I get after installing it is much worse. There are no bass at all and it is generally poor.

What else can I try? I guess the noise come because the iPod is charging. I connected it to the same cables arriving at the back of the stereo.

If I run the cables straight to the battery, will this eliminate the noise? What other solutions do I have?
