Recently a sub-topic of another thread was discussing the highest ambient temp on the SID. Today the air temp was in the high 90's (F), but after sitting in a parking lot, the SID was reading 116 F highest I've seen (though after driving 5 minutes it was 97F).

What is the highest anyone else has seen?

Just courious.

Best regards,

Bryan

I was visiting my parents in Indio California (east of Palm Springs) in the summer, what was I thinking! Luckily the car faired well. My previous car on such a trip would of had yet another part melt off.

I was actually wondering what the high limit was. Thanks for the answers.

M4,

would that be due to the hot coolant on the sensor or just a busted sensor. I can't remember how bad the damage was.

the sensor is located in the front bumper, and it got tweeked on impact, so it just sent funny signals.
