i kind of figure that this subject has been beat to death.......but, i have one quick question. do high output coils (accell,etc) work well in the saab n/a 16v environment?
a few years ago i replaced the stock coil on my old HARLEY with an accell h.o. unit and noticed a big difference. it was more responsive and seemed a little more "crisp".

The electronic ignition systems in modern cars (including the Classic 900) are already high-output. I doubt any "improvement" on the OEM setup would be worthwhile:roll:

I put an Accel coil in my 89 N/A 900 and it has worked fine for 3 years now. I didn't notice a power gain of any kind, I just noticed that the Accel coil was $20.00 less than the OEM coil that was listed. :cheesy:
