Hi from a newbie, new to Saabs and new to the forum.

Question is whether it's possible to swap the std Aero ('96) steering wheel for one with stereo controls?

Are the wires already in the loom? Will it fit? Will the airbag work & hook straight up? Which model wheel with controls should I be looking for?

The car hasn't actually got a CD player in it at the mo, it's got the std Saab Radio cassette - can I fit an aftermarket CD deck (with a changer in the boot) or should I just be looking for a Saab CD deck?

Thought this'd be a quick question but it seems to have grown!

TIA

As far as I know the 9000 never came with steering wheel audio controls. So it is very unlikely that there would be any wiring of that sort. If you don't want to rewire pretty much the whole stereo system I'd just find another stock unit. The front speakers are powered from the head unit while the rears are powered by an amp that sits under the passenger seat. The Aeros usually came with a Harman Kardan system that really sounds quite good. I would just try to find a factory cd player. Just remember to get the activation code with it.
