A goofy thing happened in my 2001 Saab9-5. My dog somehow jumped onto the dashboard where the hazard light was - busted the trim kit and the switch fell into the dash. I have tried to fish it out but can't get it. Can anyone tell me how to take the wood trim dash off so I can put a new trim kit in?

Yes, with a credit card and a knife you can get the SID out.
the credit card is to protect the plastic wood while using the knife.

THanks for your help was wondering which would be easier the SID or the vent that is next to the hazard switch. I am guessing the SID. When I use the credit card and screwdriver do I need to be mindful of any clips in there or just wiggle it out? thank you.

left side and right side with a small flat head its very easy to take out ive taken mine out a million times with no worry for the clips

i use a butter knife. there are clips on either side. youi can also remove the on-star switch and put your finger in there to push out the SID unit

If you don't have onstar I have found the easiest way to take the SID out is to remove the blank next to the Sid and push it out from behind.
