I have an 89' 900 sudan. When I turn on the lights everything seems fine. But when I step on the brake my running lights go out and my reverse lights come on but no brake lights what do I do? during the day without the lights on everything is fine brake lights work everyth. Ive put in new reverse light switch and I put in the new brake light switch and nothing seems to help! Can anyone help me?

Sounds like corroded grounds not allowing the proper flow of current.
Check the grounds for the tail light assemblies. Take the ground wire off and wire brush the connecter and screw/bolt/nut and chassis where it mounts. Then put a light coat of anti-seize or similar on all the parts when you put 'em back together. Also check the ground points near the battery under the radiator. This one also corrodes and causes problems...
