I'm trying to take the lower knee bolster where the passengers legs go so I can get to the stuff behind it which has come loose.

I am at a loss as how to get the black plastic screws that have a pin in the middle to holds it in place out... I have tried tweesers to pull the pin out and flat head screw drivers to pry the screw out itself, I havent been successful.

So how do they come out?

Use a sharp utlity knife to ply the plastic nail out. Once the nail is out you can pull the plastic tab out.

I used a thin screwdriver to PUSH the centre plastic pin up INTO the retainer. When the cover comes down, the pins usually drop onto the floor. If you lose one, then just get a long medium screw to screw into the retainer. It's easier too for next time, just unscrew the screw, don't have to mess about searching for the pins then.
