I have a 2004 9-3 Arc and the driver side low beam isn't working. I tried new bulbs and still nothing. But the high beam works fine and the passenger side light works. Any ideas or suggestions?

The headlight harness fries the wires at the bulb plug sometimes. This happened to my 04 Aero, one of the sponsor sites makes a wire replacement kit that you can solder in to replace the damaged wires and plug.

Just a possibility.

The wires look fine and if they were fried I wouldn't think the highbeam would be working either?

The high beam is a different bulb, this is only the low beam plug that this seems to happen to. they corrode and break right at the plug. but if the wires look ok, then I'm out of suggestions. :cheesy:

you haven't said whether these are halogen or Hids.

Hids auto level at start up.

Say what? Really? That's odd. As far as I knew, the only "shared" low/high beam was the bi-xenon as it's just a flap that opens to allow more light from the low beam bulb (removes the cutoff at the top of the bulb).

The Halogens as far as I know, the high beam is the light closest to the grill, and the low beams are the closest to the edge of the bumper.

Yes it is strange their seems to be several different variations. They share a H7 halogen bulb.

no they don't,one H7 for low,one H7 for high..

as nocture says only HID(bi-xenon) share the same lamp using a shutter..

the previous gen 9-3(94-02) shared the same bulb because that was a H4.

So, the question is...do the headlights level when you start the car (i.e. visibly move down then up.)?
