My heater sometimes blows cold when it's supposed to be hot and vice versa. I've also noticed that when I push the recirc button it doesn't light up and sometimes a message comes on the SID - something like: "recirc pump...AC blah blah)

Does this type of failure (assuming it's some kind of pump) throw a code?

Also, any of you blokes had these symptoms and a possible fix?

Pmonfre, unless the V6 has a different SID to the 4 cylinder there's no such warning message. There's only the following in its armoury....
FRONT LIGHT FAILURE
REAR LIGHT FAILURE
FOG LIGHT FAILURE
BRAKE LIGHT FAILURE
TEST BRAKE LIGHTS
WASHER FLUID LEVEL LOW
FILL COOLANT FLUID
REPLACE KEY BATTERY
KEY NOT ACCEPTED
SERVICE THEFT ALARM
TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING
TIME FOR SERVICE

All the RECIRC button does is close a flap to prevent outside air entering the vehicle, i've never heard of a pump in the system. Re RECIRC not displaying, AUTO won't display on my ACC panel due to the pixel problem. To check for fault codes in the ACC, press AUTO and OFF simultaneously, this will bring up two numbers on the left and right of the display, let us know what they are and we can progress from there.​
